Thirty two of the top gamers in the world will descend upon New York City to battle for two days. At the end of the gruelling competition only two contenders will remain standing.
The preliminary matches will take place Sunday, November 20 and Monday, November 21, 2005 at the web2zone Cyber Center.
The CPL World Tour finals culminate on Tuesday, November 22 at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square, with a head-to-head competition between the top two finalists for a combined $250,000 in prizes.
This is the largest cash prize ever handed out in competitive video gaming for one match.
The World Tour Finals will host several exhibitions highlighting the technology companies that powered the CPL World Tour across the globe. Other exhibitions will include a diversity of talents that have been impacted by the the CPL global events. These special exhibitions will be presented by film producers, actors, musicians, book authors, photographers and others.
The World Tour Finals will have live music performances and a VIP party that will rattle the Big Apple's crate.
The CPL's media partner, MTV, will provide coverage of the Finals on MTV Overdrive, the new broadband video channel from MTV.com. MTV will also feature live highlights of the tournament and create a half-hour special of the World Tour Finals to air on MTV on Saturday, November 26, 2005.
